ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Why not seize the opportunity to learn from an extraordinary specialist with a truly global and diverse educational background? Dr. Stanley began his professional journey as a dispensing optician with the British Dispensing Opticians Association, followed by earning his optometry degree from Cardiff University in the UK. After gaining extensive clinical experience in the United Kingdom, he expanded his expertise into behavioral optometry, earning a Master's degree in Clinical Vision Therapy from the University of Isabelle in Europe. His pursuit of excellence led him to study Syntonic Light Therapy directly from renowned European mentors.

Uniquely distinguished by holding a Master of Education, Dr. Stanley integrates educational principles and critical-thinking methodologies from diverse cultural perspectives, including the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, and various parts of Europe. His teaching approach encourages practitioners to develop independent, critical thinking and stimulates intellectual curiosity.

Additionally, Dr. Stanley holds a Doctorate of Optometry awarded in the UK, a rare achievement in Asia, further underscoring his exceptional credentials. His extensive global training includes mentorships and professional collaborations across multiple U.S. states—Michigan, Texas, Chicago, Florida, Boston, New York, and both East and West coasts—as well as valuable experiences in Canada and Australia, including Melbourne, Gold Coast, and Sydney.

His exceptional expertise is recognized through prestigious affiliations and fellowships with four international optometric organizations: the Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association (FNORA), the College of Syntonic Optometry (FCSO), the Australian College of Behavioral Optometry (FACBO), and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD).

Dr. Stanley actively integrates Eastern and Western cultural insights into his teaching methodology, significantly benefiting Taiwanese master's degree and postgraduate students. His practice frequently includes international patients from the USA, UK, China, the Philippines, Korea, and beyond, reflecting his global influence and comprehensive approach to optometric care.

Courses

This evidence-based module explores integrating developmental and behavioural optometry into everyday refractive care, targeting challenges commonly encountered in high-street clinics. Participants will review current research highlighting how traditional refraction methods may miss subtle binocular or accommodative dysfunctions affecting patient comfort and performance.

This engaging module introduces practitioners to innovative retinoscopy techniques within behavioral optometry, including Stress Point Retinoscopy, Book Retinoscopy, and Just Look Retinoscopy. Participants will explore how these specialized methods move beyond standard refraction, enabling accurate assessment of visual stress, reading-related issues, and natural visual behavior. Practical demonstrations and interactive workshops will illustrate how each retinoscopic approach enhances therapeutic precision and patient engagement, promoting optimal visual development and performance.

This module integrates developmental, neuro, functional, and behavioral optometry specifically for pediatric care. Participants will explore evidence-based techniques to assess and enhance visual development, neuroplasticity, and functional performance in children. Through practical workshops and interactive case studies, practitioners will master strategies to identify developmental delays, visual processing deficits, and behavioral vision challenges.

This engaging module combines developmental, neuro, functional, and behavioural optometry, specifically tailored to address the unique visual needs of special populations. Led by an expert speaker with a Master of Education, practitioners will gain insights into evidence-based approaches, emphasizing the integration of educational strategies with optometric care.

This course offers a comprehensive overview of developmental, behavioral, and functional optometry, alongside clinical binocular vision. Participants will master therapeutic prescribing methods, advancing beyond basic refractive correction toward holistic visual development.

This module provides practitioners with advanced skills for diagnosing and managing non-strabismic visual anomalies, specifically basic phoria, convergence insufficiency, and accommodation inefficiency. Participants will gain expertise in neuro vision therapy integrated with elements of syntonic light therapy.

This advanced module offers practitioners comprehensive expertise in amblyopia diagnosis and management, emphasizing precise diagnostic techniques, customized lens training, and the integration of syntonic light therapy. Participants will master therapeutic strategies designed to optimize visual function with minimal reliance on extensive vision therapy.

This module provides practitioners with comprehensive knowledge of strabismus, covering esotropia, exotropia, hypertropia, and DVD. Participants will explore behavioral, developmental, and functional frameworks, alongside practical lenses-only management strategies enhanced by syntonic light therapy.

This module provides an in-depth exploration of learning-related visual issues, such as visual reversals, language-specific challenges, and visual-motor difficulties. Drawing on insights from neuroscience, developmental optometry, neuro-optometry, and syntonic light therapy, practitioners will learn to distinguish between process and developmental reversals, identify factors affecting language learning, and address visual-motor integration deficits.
